Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest football players of all time. He has always managed to stay as an icon to fans and fellow players for years, and now he faces another challenge. Now, it is a match for the legend against an invisible opponent – a virus. Cristiano Ronaldo has now become positive for coronavirus infection.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese player who plays as a forward for the Italian club Juventus. He made headlines when he moved to Juventus from Real Madrid for a massive 105 million Euros fee. He had a contract to earn 500,000 Euros per week at the Italian club for four years.
Ronaldo has garnered a huge fan base and some titles, too, in his journey to this point. He has won five Ballon d’Or, four European Golden Shoes, 30 major trophies in his career, including seven league titles, five UEFA Champions Leagues, one UEFA European Championship, and one UEFA Nations League title.
His achievements never fail to grow even now. For him, it seems that age is just a number, and it has no effect on his health and fitness. He challenges many younger players to compete with him in fitness goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now captaining the Portugal national football team. He is now in the UEFA Nations League tournament, representing his team. On Tuesday, the Portugal Federation for Football announced that Cristiano Ronaldo had been tested positive for the coronavirus infection.
Following this incident, all other players and staff went through another COVID-19 test. They all were not affected by the virus. Though he is asymptomatic, Ronaldo has started his 10-day isolation from others. It is to be noted that José Fonte and Anthony Lopes, two Portugal players, have tested positive for coronavirus.
Following the infection, Ronaldo has isolated himself from others while taking care of his health. The federation released a press statement stating that Ronaldo will not play for the Portugal squad against Sweden. Both of these teams are in Group C and face each other on October 15, 2020.
Ronaldo will also miss Juventus’ match against Crotone in Serie A this weekend and their Champions League group stage opener against Dynamo Kyiv on October 20.
Ronaldo will miss the match because of his health conditions. COVID-19 has drastically overturned the football industry and business all around the World. Many famous footballers have got the COVID-19 virus. Neymar, Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are mentioned.
Ronaldo may return to his national squad after some time, but no one knows when he will get cured. Fans are eager as always to see their superstar in the grass and kick the ball.
