The email marketing tool Mailchimp appears to have discontinued its services for crypto content creators.
Some affected accounts were crypto research company Messari and self-custody crypto services Edge wallet.
Crypto content creators address Mailchimp ruckus on Twitter
Cory Klippsten of Swan Private, a Bitcoin investment advising service for corporations and high-net-worth people, tweeted about the incident.
You know we plan, and work our a**es off. Swan security is TIGHT.
There's no in-house solution for decent email marketing. These are huge co's w complex functionality. Best u can do is limit what u share w them. Ours just first name, email, and IP loc (center of city, state).

The Ethereum Foundation’s Ecosystem Support Program has also been suspended, according to Sam Richards of the Ethereum Foundation.
It was eventually discovered that service violations were why accounts were being “temporarily suspended” or disabled. The clause is listed against the End User License Agreement policy, which lists forbidden content, on the Mailchimp website.
The site policy claims to have been revised in May of last year. It specifies in this part that “cryptocurrencies, virtual currencies, and any digital assets related to an Initial Coin Offering” are prohibited due to “higher-than-average abuse complaints.”
A history of bans
Although, this is not the first time Mailchimp has taken action against content related to cryptocurrencies. This kind of activity dates back to 2018.
In the same vein, Facebook also banned any cryptocurrency-related advertisements on its platform in 2018.
However, the company issued a public statement stating that “cryptocurrency-related information isn’t necessarily prohibited” and can be transmitted as long as the sender isn’t involved in “the production, sale, exchange, storage, or marketing of cryptocurrencies.”
Mailchimp has yet to provide an official statement addressing the latest occurrences. Instead, the departure of Mailchimp CEO and co-founder Ben Chestnut was revealed. He announced his formal resignation from the position after 21 years. Rania Succar will lead Mailchimp in his place.
