Game developer Crytek has announced that this summer, it will be releasing Crysis Remastered on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
As its title suggests, Crysis Remastered is the remastered version of the classic first-person shooter game Crysis 1.
According to the press release, the new iteration coming this summer promises remastered graphics, as well as optimizations for next-gen hardware co-developed on CryEngine with Saber Interactive.
Together with the released statement, Crytek also took the opportunity to post a teaser trailer.
Venturing into new platforms this year
Crytek first released Crysis on PC back in 2007 and then ported the game to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 around four years later.
This summer, a full remaster of the original version will make its debut on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
It bears saying that the upcoming release will mark the first time that the game will land on a Nintendo platform, as Crytek has noted on its official Twitter page.

“We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game,” Avni Yerli, the CEO of Crytek, stated via the press release.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles — even Nintendo Switch! — so that a whole generation of players can experience the thrill of a battle in the Nanosuit.”
What to expect from the remaster
As indicated in the press release, Crysis Remastered will revisit the single-player campaigns of the original version.
But this time around, Crytek will pair that single-player focus with enhanced textures and upgraded art assets.
Fans of the shooter game can also expect an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, new depth field and light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, as well as particle effects.
Volumetric fog and shafts of light, ray tracing, and screen space reflections round up the full package of enhancements.
Also coming this summer
Apart from Crysis Remastered, gamers can also look forward to other titles confirmed for release this summer season.
They include RecoTechnology’s 1971 Project Helios, which will be released on all gaming platforms on June 9.
Meanwhile, Virtuos Games is also eyeing a June 5 Nintendo Switch release for The Outer Worlds.
