The new Crysis Remastered will likely have reasonable requirements for this generation. The studio confirmed its system requirements, and they are easy.
Crysis Remastered, so far, doesn’t need players to have a monster PC for it to work. The notorious FPS title has its specs out for the public on its Epic Store page. Unlike the current Microsoft Flight Simulator, the game doesn’t need players to sell a kidney to run.
Crysis will work with mid-range PC specs
So far, the new Crysis is looking out to be a solid remaster. It will include all the bells and whistles of the original game updated for a new generation. So far, the published system requirements are easy to achieve.
The minimum system requirements for the new Crysis on PC are as follows:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 / AMD Ryzen 3
- RAM: 8GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TI /AMD Radeon 470
- Graphics Memory: 4GB in 1080p
- Storage: 20GB
- DirectX: DX11
The recommended system requirements for the new Crysis will be as follows:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-7600k or higher / AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
- RAM: 12GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 TI / AMD Radeon Vega 56
- Graphics Memory: 8GB in 4K
- Storage: 20GB
- DirectX: DX11
As players can see, there’s nothing special about these requirements. Many of them are almost akin to DOOM Eternal’s general requirements. What is problematic about these numbers, however, is the lack of information.
Like many system requirements online, there is no information on expected performance. Fans can question if the specs are for a 1080p60 gaming or 1080p30 standard. The specs came out without much fanfare, so the game needs benchmarking.
New Crysis a bit underwhelming
So far, Crysis Remastered will not be the “Crysis” of this genre. The original title was notorious for needing specs that were two generations ahead. Not until 2017 were gamers able to play the original title in its max settings.
At least now, players know that the next iteration won’t melt their PCs. That distinction goes to Microsoft Flight Simulator for this generation. Reports say gamers are unable to run MS Flight Sim on max settings with the 2080 Ti.
There no clear information yet on what next-gen specs a computer would need for RTX. Players who want to take advantage of ray tracing have no information about potential performance. The game can run a version of ray tracing with its unique API-agnostic ray tracing solution.
The remaster boasts better textures, SSDO, SVOGI, improved assets, and more. Crysis Remastered will come out on September 18. It will be available for all PC, PS4, and the Xbox One for US$30.
