The recent War Table for Marvel’s Avengers once again showed what comic fans should expect from the game. If there’s one highlight of the recent War Table, it has to be the reveal of the game’s first post-launch DLC.
Crystal Dynamics has announced before that Marvel’s Avengers will have free post-launch DLC. These DLC characters will be free and will come with their own sets of unique missions. It’s a great format for the game as it will keep the players coming back again and again.
Crystal Dynamics introduces Hawkeye
As per the recent War Table, Crystal Dynamics says that they will add Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye to the game’s first launch. With Hawkeye’s addition, the members of the Avengers becomes even more complete.
Hawkeye was revealed with a unique cinematic trailer showcasing his bow-wielding skills. However, we’ve yet to see some gameplay footage of him. Fans are excited to see how he plays because, as compared to other heroes, Hawkeye is focused on ranged-combat.
More about Hawkeye
Once Hawkeye is added to the game, he will have his story missions for players to complete. His story will tie-in to the events of Marvel’s Avengers. As per the War Table, his missions can be played either solo or co-op.
The developers also revealed that their iteration of Hawkeye is based on the comic series by Matt Fraction.
Beta next month
As per the developers, a beta for the game will launch sometime next month. It will allow players to fully test out the game and some of the heroes that are already available. We’ve yet to know who the four beta heroes are, but fans are hoping that it will be the original heroes of the Avengers team.
Players should not miss out on the beta because by playing it, not only will they be able to test the game. There will also be some exclusive unlockables that they can get in it. These unlockables can be transferred to the full game when it launches the following month.
Marvel’s Avengers will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 4. The game will also have a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version planned, but we have yet to know whether these will launch during the Holidays. Once the new-gen versions arrive, fans can expect some performance and visual upgrades for the game.
