Everyone knew that players will switch to Valorant when it gets released, but most of us didn’t expect to see a lot of pro players make the jump so quickly.
CS:GO professional players such as Hunter “SicK” Mims, Shahzeeb “ShahZam” Khan, Austin “crashies” Roberts, Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro and, most recently, Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir have switched to Valorant for various reasons.
However, sources confirm that most of them pointed out a lack of organizational support.
Freakazoid is the latest among CS:GO pro players to shift to Valorant. He was one of Cloud9’s promising professional team.
The 27-year old pro player dedicated more than a decade of his life to his CS:GO career and was part of one of the most iconic team CS:GO teams of North America.
Although the team never worked out, Freakazoid still kept on playing for other CS:GO teams. However, the raging popularity of Valorant made it irresistible for pro players to make the move.
His announcement on Twitter was touching at the same time enlightening.
The tweet came after his last team slowly disbanded this week. Freakazoid followed the footsteps of teammates Victor “food” Wong and Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro as they transitioned to Valorant.
Freakazoid’s brother Austin “Cooper” Abadir has also left the team but has not announced yet where he would take his talents.
Freakazoid already knows that twists in the industry since he has been in several of the biggest gaming organizations in CS:GO.
These jumps from pro players will certainly be not the end. As more players make the move, the others will feel more pressure to act before top organizations in Valorant are filled.
The reality is clear that Valorant is the new game every wants to play. With more outstanding features, Valorant has kept its promise to put the lights off CS:GO.
Fans and players alike can’t help but wonder why a closed beta game is already doing better than all of the previous battle royale games. Valorant’s competitive scene seems to be already built up to dominate the competition.
Allowing pro players to switch from game to game can be risky. However, Valorant seems to like the risk since they excel at it.
Riot Games’ developers have done a great job with Valorant and the dream of launching a successful game is near. Only one thing remains – Valorant’s official release.
