Cyberpunk 2077 Polish developer CD Projekt RED just shared another update related to the security breach in February this year.
Unfortunately, the news is not good, and it might be worrisome for some of the former employees at the studio. For those unaware, a group of attackers, earlier this year, hacked the source codes relating to The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.

In a message posted on its website, CDPR mentioned that the damage done due to the attack in February might be more than expected.
Furthermore, the developer added that the details of its former workers might be at risk as well. And that is not at all good to know.
Here’s an excerpt from the official update:
“We are not yet able to confirm the exact contents of the data in question, though we believe it may include current/former employee and contractor details in addition to data related to our games.”
CD Projekt said that its team is currently working with many extensive networks and services and law enforcement agencies. General Police Headquarters of Poland is also involved. Plus, Interpol and Europol are also on board.
The information they shared with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO) is updated.
Moreover, it mentioned several key measures that it took after the major cyberattack in February. They will help to secure and strengthen its internal systems.
However, it didn’t say anything about capturing the attackers because the investigation is still going on.

CDPR going through a challenging phase
No matter how many efforts are being made, it seems like an inevitable curse imposed on Cyberpunk 2077 and anything attached to it.
If a disastrous launch wasn’t enough, it then faced the wrath of the majority of the gaming community for an extended period. And it’s still going through that phase.
However, CD Projekt RED rectified several things by announcing major bug fixing patches in the last five months. And they were pretty helpful as well.
But now, it’s been a long time since any fresh update was released after Hotfix 1.22.
Thus, it becomes necessary for the Polish developer to divert the attention of fans from controversy to gameplay. And it can do so only by revealing fresh and compelling content for Cyberpunk 2077.
What are your thoughts on this entire and dramatic transition relating to CDPR and Cyberpunk?
