Just a day before launch, early Cyberpunk 2077 review reactions are already in! And it seems like critics love it while having a mixed feeling.
According to Games Industry, reactions from critics are already out before the official launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on Thursday. And so far, it looks like the CD Projekt Red title is impressing the game experts across various renowned portals.
Metacritic, the most prominent and reliable website, has given it a whopping 91 percent rating! It is based on around 44 (at the time of this article) reviews so far.
Cyberpunk 2077 reviews
Speaking in detail, then the ambitious CD Projekt Red release is getting a much-needed appreciation. However, there are many controversies too surrounding it.
Firstly talking about the open-world video game itself, the publisher needs to maintain its reputation following The Witcher 3‘s success. And that’s the aspect of amazing world-building and brilliant storytelling.
The Gamer’s critic writes: “If you’ve played The Witcher 3, you can expect the same standard of writing here.”
He continues further and says: “It’s not the brash, the juvenile game you might be expecting if you’ve followed the social media conversation — it deals with tough subjects with tact and care. You might find some of it uncomfortable, but it’s a disservice to apply contemporary morality to an immoral fictional world. Worse things happen in real life, and CD Projekt does a good job of balancing the good and bad side of humanity here.”
Another review from VG247 shows that he liked the architecture of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. And that it is one of the best parts of the title.
“The size of the world and how seamless it is can’t be overstated. The occasional elevator ride is used to hide loading. Still, they’re fast enough and spent in the company of in-elevator TVs playing Night City’s news and entertainment shows, so you don’t notice.”
TrustedReviews’ critic said that she was impressed with the game but noticed issues regarding female characters’ writing in the plot. She wrote that the women in Cyberpunk are “undermined in service of furthering their male counterparts.”
One important thing to note is that all the above-mentioned reactions are specific to the PC version. In the coming weeks, we will see an overall picture when the PlayStation and Xbox variants also arrive.
Fans are excited about the big “AAA” title
Meanwhile, hyped lovers of this “AAA” title are impatiently waiting for the early copies. They only have one more day of waiting. Interestingly, many of them even threatened, on social media, before the critical consensus came in, that Cyberpunk 2077 must get no less than a score of perfect ten! Because they think it deserves to receive that kind of praise considering the vast hard work put into it.
CDPR‘s extremely anticipated game of 2020 arrives on December tenth this week.
