September is a big month for gamers as it will see the release of CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. The RPG will feature everything from intense gunfights, a huge explorable world, and a lively community.
One of the main selling points of Cyberpunk 2077 is its open-world set in Night City. Aside from bright neon lights and detailed explorable areas, Night City is made more lively thanks to the people that populate it.
Not everyone is a regular civilian, though, as there are factions in the game that players will brush shoulders with. Introduced by CD Projekt Red, these factions will make Night City feel more alive and dangerous.
The Nomads are a group of people that have lost their homes and families because of the development of corporations. Nomads thrive on what they can steal from others, which makes them a serious group to contend with in Night City.
Animals – an aggressive street-fighting gang from west Pacifica that eschews the use of traditional cyberware. Instead, they use ultra testosterone and animal supplements (like growth hormones). They’re animalistic at heart, and dangerously proud of who they are. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/wNPtCRR3kF

The Animals are physically intimidating. Led by Sasquatch, the Animals rely solely on brute force, and they enhance their bodies to be as strong as possible, whether it be through training or drugs. They are also ruthless and rely mostly on instinct, so players should be careful when fighting with a group from this faction.
Tyger Claws is a gang of Japanese origin and stylistic influence, located in Japantown. They're ruthless and violent in practice, and intimidating in appearance. Katanas, street bikes and luminous tattoos are their trademarks. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/aKKyyTmRSp

The Tyger’s Claw faction is one of the most unique in Cyberpunk 2077. What makes them different is that they don’t rely on weapons or other futuristic arms. Instead, they are fans of traditional Japanese weapons like samurai swords, and they are also experts in martial arts.
Maelstrom’s territory is the industrial part of Watson. Its factories, the Totentanz Club – you’ll meet them there. They are obsessed with cybertechnology, and their urge to improve the weakness of human flesh is far stronger than their fear of cyberpsychosis. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/Xp3whIDhMf

The Maelstrom’s territory lies in an industrialized part of Watson. They indulge themselves in improving the human body through artificial modifications. Their robotic improvements also make them a dangerous foe to contend with.
Voodoo Boys, an enigmatic gang from Pacifica, aren’t just netrunners devoted to uncovering the secrets of the Old Net and behind the Blackwall. They're also edgerunners: breaking every rule there is to break, and programming viruses that can freeze neural networks. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/Q1ckqAf5we

True to their name, the Voodoo Boys are huge fans of magic. Aside from that, they also partake in drugs and rituals. Considered as one of the most ruthless gangs in the game, players should do their best to avoid having run-ins with the Voodoo Boys as they are capable of dealing damage in groups. In the game, they are led by Maman Brigitte.
One of Night City’s largest gangs, the Valentinos are bound by a strong moral code and century-old traditions. Controlling swathes of predominantly Latino areas of Heywood, they treat values such as honor, justice, and brotherhood with deadly seriousness. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/Z2dgxy3R0P

The Valentino’s don’t engage in drugs and other violent acts immediately. Instead, they are focused on seducing the women of Night City. While this faction is harmless most of the time, they can still be a threat when necessary. Members of this faction also uphold a moral code and a sense of brotherhood.
These factions play a huge part in Cyberpunk 2077. Players can align themselves with these groups, or they can go up against them as well. Knowing these factions and what they stand for will help players make better decisions in the game. Of course, they should put themselves ahead of these factions before anything else.
