Cyberpunk 2077 was originally slated for release on April 16 but was subsequently delayed as the developers wanted to polish the game further. However, news about the upcoming title has been scarce in recent months, causing some frustration for gamers eagerly waiting for the release.
To provide some sort of content, Reddit user Ninjakilla_X stitched together a one-minute clip from a Q&A video last year. And while it isn’t much, the video has once again highlighted the details placed in Cyberpunk 2077.
The developers previously said that although the game’s map isn’t as large as that of The Witcher 3, it’s going to be denser with a heavy emphasis on verticality. Indeed, trailers on the game have shown how much work has been put in fleshing out this world, from the towering megastructures dominating Night City to the unique citizens populating the area. You can even see the sweat of the NPC staining the table minute 45 of the video, attesting to the obsessive nature of CD Projekt Red.
A pacifist run
Paired with this massive world is the liberty given to players. Cyberpunk 2077 has little restrictions when it comes to gameplay, giving players the freedom to finish a mission; however, they see fit. In fact, you even have the option to finish the game without killing a single person. That’s quite an interesting take for a game that has violence written all over it.
As for the archetypes, there are three main builds in the game: Solos, Techies, and Net Runners. Solos are for those who like to get things done up close. Techies and Net Runners, on the other hand, requires more creativity on the player’s part, taking advantage of the software and hardware mechanics of the game.
Night City’s six districts
Of course, you can create a hybrid build if you like, but these three are the general archetypes that have been categorized by the developers. With regards to the districts found in the game, Night City is divided in six different locations: Watson, Pacifica, Westbrook, City Center, Heywood, and Santo Domingo.
However, a seventh area called the Badlands is also located on the outskirts of the city, the place where you’ll start your journey if you choose to be of Nomad origins. Nomads are considered as one of the good guys in the game, possessing ideals like honesty and integrity that is unfamiliar for those living in Night City.
With regards to the release date, Cyberpunk 2077 will be available in September 2017. The standard price starts at $59.99, although Amazon is offering a $10 discount right now for those interested in pre-ordering the game.
