We’re nearing the Night City Wire live stream, and as the date draws nearer, the developer is revealing more details about V and the upcoming game. It’s most recent reveal details the side quests for Cyberpunk 2077.
The main and side quests in The Witcher 3 are a part of the game’s overall appeal. Not only were these amazing and simply not some run-of-the-mill fetch quests, Geralt had to make impactful choices throughout these as well. Since the game was steep in lore, players enjoyed the side quests as much as they did the main quests.
How are side quests going to be in CD Projekt Red’s next game?
Speaking to a premium podcast, developer CD Projekt Red detailed the game’s quest design. Throughout the interview, the developer compared their previous titles with how they worked with the upcoming RPG experience.
As per the developers, death is the only means for a mission to end in the game. To accomplish this, the team working behind quest design had to consider all of the possible ways a player can fail a mission. It means while in mid-combat or the middle of a mission, the players can leave whenever they want to.
While the mission is still on-going, they can at least go back and recuperate. Considering how interactive Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to become, it’s hard to tell exactly what sort of things players can do while postponing a mission.
The developer also notes that players have three times as many ways to end a mission as compared in The Witcher 3.
From the look of things, the upcoming title is going to be better than The Witcher 3 and much more. Many critics are already expecting it to be an instant Game of the Year contender.
Cyberpunk 2077 features a lot of RPG elements, including character customization, side quests, and more. Perhaps the biggest draw point of the game is that there’s a lot of things to do in Night City. Even the thousands of NPCs feel more alive, and all of these are added features to ensure that immersion is at its best.
