The next patch of Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed on account of falling victim to a ransomware attack this month.
The developer of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt has been attacked earlier this month. The next big patch, 1.2, is supposed to hit the market soon, majorly.
In an official tweet by Cyberpunk 2077, the announcement from the official handle tells us everything. They are apologizing for such delay.
The company was supposed to launch Cyberpunk 2077 next patch this February. However, since the cyberattack, they won’t be able to launch the game.
What “Cyberpunk 2077” is asking for?
The company is urging for some extra time. They are doing this on account of the cyber attack.
In the tweet, they have also mentioned the extensive scope of updates. For the updates, gamers will have to wait for some time shortly.
The cyberattack caused considerable disruption. This included both the source code and personal details of employees.

Mainly, this cyber attack caused a massive loss for CDPR. There was much sensitive information of the employees associated with this cyber attack.
It is nearly impossible for CDPR employees to function appropriately in the advent of all this.
In a report by Bloomberg, the company refused to pay the ransom. This made it clear for the hackers, which ultimately led no-login scenario.
The employees weren’t able to log into their accounts. The system wasn’t working efficiently. The employees weren’t able to log into the company’s VPN.
The anonymity of the employees was respected as they weren’t allowed to speak publicly.

The company is asking the employees to freeze their accounts. It is also asking them to report the issue with the police and banks as well.
Employees were asked to ship their computers back to the company’s IT staff. This was done to remove those malware and viruses.
