‘Cyberpunk 2077’ system requirements are out now

Share

CD Projekt Red unveiled the system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077. The numbers are surprisingly low, which makes people question why can’t others do it.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the much-awaited game for 2020. It’s coming out soon, and CD Projekt Red released the required specs for their landmark title. Then numbers are unbelievably low, making the game a potential must-buy for more gamers.

CP2077 system requirements are surprisingly low

In the recent Night City Wire, CDPR revealed their system requirements. They optimized the minimum requirements for the 1080p Low settings. On the other end, the recommended settings are for a 1080p high setting.

The numbers for the minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • OS: Windows 7 or 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 70 GB HDD, SSD recommended

For the recommended system requirements, the specs players need are as follows:

  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
  • Memory: 12GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 70 GB SSD

As players can see, these are staggeringly low numbers for CP2077. For example, the i7-4790 came out more than 6 years ago. While the 1060 is everyone’s “ole’ reliable,” it’s still a very low spec considering it can run the game at 1080p High settings.

CDPR made good on their promises

CD Projekt Red’s Marcin Momot promised that they would release more recommendations in the future. As the release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is nearing, the company noted that they’d show off builds for 1440 and 4K60fps.

The game is still quite bulky by today’s standards, but there’s something astounding to the 70 GB number. For starters, that’s a paltry number compared to Call of Duty’s unoptimized 200GB+ HDD size. CDPR made good on their promise about the HDD size too.

What’s interesting, however, is the SSD requirement as a minimum. From a technical aspect, this points to potential pop-in issues. When the game world calls for items to render, anything lower than an SSD would cause pop-ins.

These details also further point to superb compression and optimization from CD Projekt Red. So far, they’re doing the community wonders with every news about the game.

For example, CDPR notes that the main story for CP2077 will be shorter than Witcher 3. This ensures that the title only offers richly-made stories and lore. It also stops players from boring themselves to death.

Cyberpunk 2077 will come out this November. In the recent Night City Wire event, the game released two new trailers showing off more of this dystopian future.
