Lucky new owners of the limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X consoles were shocked to find a secret message on Microsoft’s gaming console itself.
As Micky News previously reported, Microsoft has released its final limited edition themed Xbox One X—with CD Projekt RED‘s Cyberpunk 2077—last weekend.
Microsoft boasts the “cybernetic design, glowing elements, bright panels, and color shift effects” of the CD Projekt RED-partnered console. Little did its avid followers know that the “glowing elements” meant something more.
What was the secret message?
Redditor Eversmans037 took it to Reddit this weekend to share his newly-received Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 bundle. He noticed lettered markings at the back of the console that reads, “Uniform Victor Michael Echo,” with the first letter of each word being heavily emphasized.
VG 24/7 recognized the words as “corresponding letters” in the NATO phonetic alphabet, correctly reading the message as “UV ME.” This was taken as an “invitation to shine an ultraviolet light” on that particular marking area—which the Redditor did after others commented for him to try.
Indeed enough, a “hidden message” was seen after using a GTA 5 UV pen on it. Per Redditor Eversmans037, the message reads, “many languages, one message,” followed by the word “thank you” in 15 languages, and the “CD-Projekt Red-Xbox.”
A redditor recently revealed a hidden message that’s on the back of the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X with UV light.

Per the Reddit discussion, here are the languages that were used in the hidden message:
- Polish
- English
- German
- Arabic
- French
- Italian
- Chinese
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Russian
- Korean
- Hungarian
- Czech language
Unfortunately, the Redditor wasn’t able to decipher the 15th language used but described it as kanji-like characters. The languages mentioned, according to Eurogamer, are the languages that’ll be made available once the Cyberpunk 2077 game is launched.
Other Cyberpunk 2077 news
Meanwhile, the latest CD Project RED game title is said to still arrive late on Google Stadia, despite its already delayed launch globally.
It should be noted that Cyberpunk 2077 was initially penned in for an April release, but was, later on, pushed back to September. The delay came with the assumption that all gaming platforms, including Google Stadia, will now be receiving the game all at the same time.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case, as Stadia Source highlights CD Projekt RED’s May 29 announcement which reads:
“Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on 17 September 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. By the end of the year the game will also make its debut on Google Stadia. Further information can be found on the game’s official website and on its Facebook and Twitter profiles.”
9to5Google then discussed that the further delay of the game’s Stadia release could be because Stadia is a small platform compared to the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
