With Sungjin serving in the military and Young K enlisting soon, DAY6 is looking at Dowoon’s solo career right now.

The third-gen group is slowly entering the age of enlistment to be a part of the military, and the DAY6 members are now going on their own.

Although Jae has released mixtape tracks as well as collabs and has had various solo ventures, he hasn’t been able to take the opportunity to make a solo debut in Kpop until now.

Young K to enlist soon

Young K was the first member to make an official solo debut, with the album Eternal released on September 6. Now, the drummer and maknae (youngest) of the group, Dowoon, is going solo.

DAY6 first appeared at the beginning of 2021, after which they formed a sub-unit called Even Of Day, which includes Dowoon dropped their second album in July.

Now, the drummer is the third member to release his solo album and is scheduled to release his debut digital single called Suddenly.

DAY6 released the first glimpse of Dowoon’s new single on September 16, with the doodle showing Dowoon enjoying music with his dog. Then on September 22, they announced conceptual images and more details about the track.

Dowoon’s ‘Suddenly’ will soon hit the media platforms

Dowoon’s debut digital single Suddenly is a duet featuring Song Heejin. She is an idol, producer, and songwriter. She began her career with the Girl group Good Day. That’s why she, along with Dowoon she wrote the lyrics to the song.

They also took part in the creation of the song. She also contributed her voice to background vocals, and Dowoon has been playing the drums.

The agency he worked with said Dowoon had melted away the stress and worries he was experiencing throughout his day to create his first solo track. Introspection on his both the past and present and his thoughts, he composed his own story.”

The single will be available on the 27th of September at 6 pm KST (5 1 am EDT) on the major music streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn, and many more.

The digital single comprises two tracks, Suddenly and an instrumental version. The music video that is scheduled to be released will be an animation.

To give a teaser of the song, we’ve got the first concept photos in which Dowoon is enjoying time alone with his dog Tory, drinking watermelon, and enjoying music.

It is important to note that, in contrast to the typical K-pop group with singers and dancers, DAY6 is more like the traditional bands that you see from the West.

Every musician plays an instrument when they sing and perform without any choreography.

That’s why the fans are delighted to hear Dowoon as a singer since the majority of his time is spent on drums in the group’s reunions, with only a few lyrics that are typically sung by the chorus.
