In a new revelation, actor Ryan Reynolds told about how the original story of Deadpool 3 was going to be a road trip crossover with Logan!
According to The Independent, Deadpool 3 has initially been a road trip crossover between Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Logan. However, all these plans changed forever once Disney acquired Fox in 2019. And suddenly everything came under one roof, called the MCU! Reynolds called the initial crossover idea to be a “Rashomon-style” film.
The actor revealed this news in his recent tweet.
Here’s what he said:
“In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was going to be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real.”
Deadpool 3: From Fox to Disney, to the MCU

Considering what could happen, then there are a lot of things to imagine. But now that everything is under the MCU (Spider-Man being a little exception), more exciting things will happen in the future. When it comes to Deadpool 3, then there’s been a lot of speculations around it. Just a year ago, several people said it wouldn’t even happen because there was some issue between the makers, as per some reports. However, all that turned out false once and for all. With Kevin Feige announcing Ryan Reynolds‘ Wade Wilson in the MCU just a while ago, everything seems to be clear now.
Speaking of Reynolds’ “Rashomon style” reference, it’s related to Akira Kurosawa’s 1950 film. In that movie, one single incident is told and re-told from different characters’ perspectives. And it would have happened similarly in Deadpool 3. Well, now fans will get to see a new picture altogether. But since it’s a Marvel Studios, there’s a possibility that Wade Wilson might become an even bigger name due to the MCU franchise.
It will be interesting to see how well the combination of Kevin Feige and Reynolds eventually turns out.
What’s coming next in the Marvel movie universe?
Meanwhile, there are not just one or two highly anticipated titles right now, but endless! The immense cinematic universe in the world, at the moment, is trying its best to manage all the future productions. But the COVID-19 pandemic has made things worse when it comes to filming and finishing the work. Fans are waiting curiously for upcoming films like Captain Marvel 2, Black Panther 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Deadpool 3 in the future. However, their release dates depend on the current line-up’s schedule and changes. Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals are all completed and yet witnessing constant delays. It’s hard to imagine when the studio will come back to its regular releasing cycle.
