The E3 2021 revealed that Death Stranding would get a revamped Director’s Cut soon. Now it seems like it will be for PS5 only.
Hideo Kojima’s 2019 blockbuster, Death Stranding, will get a re-release with extended gameplay sequences. And as per the recent reports, it might arrive exclusively for just PS5.
‘Death Stranding’ Director’s Cut details
The title was Hideo Kojima’s first game after he left Konami and founded his own Kojima Productions. It had great voice acting performances from a list of acclaimed actors like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Lea Seydoux.
Death Stranding became a huge hit thanks to the critics’ praise and also players’ interest. As a result of that, it will now receive a next-gen upgrade as well.
After arriving on PC, it’s now headed towards advanced hardware with a Director’s Cut.
What’s interesting to note is that the extended cut may only release for PS5 instead of PC or Xbox.
The current ESRB rating for Death Stranding states that it will only come to PlayStation 5.
Well, it may indicate a renewed exclusivity, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t have a release on other platforms. Because the exclusivity never stays indefinitely. After it’s over, Sony has the option of making a title available on various consoles.
Thus, the PC players hoping to try out the Director’s Cut of the game need not feel disappointed. They will possibly receive a port in the future.
It will be interesting to see what new improvements are revealed in Hideo Kojima’s game whenever it arrives in an extended form.
