Kojima Productions and 505 Games are going to release First Edition copies of the upcoming PC release of Death Stranding in Japan and it comes with a steelbook, an original soundtrack, and a handful of goodies.
While fans across the globe would be eager about the news, the offer is currently strictly limited to Japan. However, even international consumers will have a chance to order the game from overseas, albeit at a higher cost due to shipping.
Upon release, the limited edition retail copy will have a price tag of ¥8690 (roughly $81), as per 4Gamer.

Mostly Digital Goodies
Diehard Death Stranding aficionados will want to order the First Edition PC release, partly for its bundled freebies. They include in-game bonuses such as the Silver and Gold cosmetics for glasses, hat, and power skeleton for Sam Bridges.
Making for additional inclusions are digital versions of the game’s original soundtrack as well as an artbook.
It will also come pre-bundled with an exclusive Death Stranding wallpaper as well.
For those who are anticipating the game mainly, the First Edition comes with a unique Steam key for users to claim once.
Preorders Are Up
Although the aforementioned goodies are indeed tempting to have, players who could not wait for the First Edition can preorder the game now. Currently, both Steam and Epic Games are running a preorder campaign for Death Stranding as the international audience waits for its delayed release.
Consumers may choose to opt for the game via Epic Games. But players who would choose to preorder the game via Steam gets a preorder bonus—a wearable headcrab as a cross-reference arising from a collaboration between Kojima Productions and Valve.
But it is not just Death Stranding which gets a Half-Life-themed bonus. Even the recently released VR-version of Half-Life, with Half-Life: Alyx, also gets a Death Stranding Easter egg, as well.
Quality of Gameplay Improvements
Although the PC port of Death Stranding will not offer much added contents compared to the PS4 release, it comes with new features. Some of its notable added elements include support for the ultra-wide monitor, higher framerate, and the recently added photo mode.

Released as a ‘limited-time exclusive’ to the PlayStation 4, Death Stranding is originally slated for release in June. But the onset and the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic forced the game’s PC port for a postponement to July 14, 2020 launch.
