The latest Dell XPS 13 is finally here. The new ultrabooks are sporting the latest Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake processors.

The new Dell XPS 13 is launching tomorrow. Besides the processor, Dell upgraded its components including better memory and Thunderbolt 4.

There are several variants of the XPS 13 coming. The base model starts at US$999 with further spec bumps increasing the price. Meanwhile, the 2-in-1 variant starts at $1,249 which is a decent price considering what this laptop is capable of.

What’s new in these devices?

As mentioned earlier, these laptops are powered by the Intel Tiger Lake processors. The latest processors are more power-efficient giving it better battery life.

The RAM update increases its speed to 4,267Mhz compared to 3,733Mhz from the previous generation. Besides the speed boost, the new devices can now support up to 32GB of memory.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 version adds support for Windows Hello via the included IR camera. however, the regular XPS 13 does not come with one.

Design-wise, the new devices look similar to the early 2020 models. It retains the InfiniteEdge FHD+ display with a thin body.

In terms of battery life, the refreshed XPS models are now Intel Evo certified. It means that the laptops now support fast charging.

With this certification, Dell says that the 2-in-1 and the regular XPS 13 may last up to nine hours of usage.

On the other hand, Dell has released a developer edition of the new XPS. This system is based on Linux and is running Ubuntu 20.04LTS.

According to Dell, this device is targeted to last for up to 19 hours of usage. But just like other devices, it all depends on the usage.

The Dell XPS 13 is one of the best ultrabooks out there. This refresh might be the best move for the previous two generation owners. But for someone looking for a great ultrabook, then this refresh is a wise choice.
