Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich broke the headlines when they officially announced their engagement in July. Just four months into their relationship, they publicly professed their love for each other on social media.
However, things have seemingly gotten rocky two months after the proposal. Several accusations emerged surrounding the couple, particularly Ehrich’s alleged old “obsession” for Selena Gomez. While the “Heart Attack” singer debunked all the allegations, they broke off the engagement and separated ways two weeks later, according to People.
Several insiders revealed that Lovato and Ehrich started to encounter problems these past few weeks when they returned to their respective works. The Camp Rock star has reportedly stayed in Los Angeles, while the Walk. Ride. Rodeo. actor is now working on a film project in Atlanta.
Another source reports that the couple was together “24/7 for months,” and lived in a “bubble” with no stress. But, due to having to work on separate coasts, conflicts emerged between them.
Other sources echoed the assertions, adding that their distance placed a “strain” on their relationship. Nevertheless, later on, an insider close to the situation revealed that Demi Lovato is doing well. The split is a “good thing,” the tipster added.
The sources continued to share that Demi was not expecting the break-up to happen. It was a very “tough” resolution for them to call-off the engagement.
Despite ultimately separating ways to focus on their careers, they still have “respect” and “love” for each other. They will always “cherish” the time they had together, the insider said. In the end, though, Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich have yet to share their thoughts about the break-up.
The break-up news comes two weeks after screenshots of Max Ehrich’s alleged “love” for Selena Gomez went viral. Several netizens discussed the controversy on Twitter, including Demi Lovato’s possible reaction to the whole debacle.
People reported that the posts and comments show the actor’s alleged romantic and intense feelings toward the Ice Cream singer. There are posts, as well, linking him to other artists, including Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande.
Following the controversy, many thought that the two broke up because of Selena Gomez. But, Demi Lovato debunked the claims and revealed that they are all “fake.” Later on, she urged her fans and followers to focus more on important issues in society today.
