The popular Japanese anime series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has recently accused a Korean smartphone RPG game, The Ear-Slaying Sword of plagiarising its series’ content.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows a story about a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado who becomes a demon slayer after his family has been slaughtered by demons. Written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge, Tanjiro Kamado has yet to unravel his greatest adventures in killing demons.
However, recent reactions from fans have placed the anime series into the limelight because it appears that the series has been plagiarised by a Korean RPG game.
Fans accused The Ear-Slaying Sword of plagiarism
The plagiarism was revealed when fans from Japan and Korea brought their concerns online The materials from the Demon Slayer series are said to be identical with that of the RPG game. Fans have noticed that the resemblance between the main characters of the series and the game is too similar.

In addition, The Ear-Slaying Sword’s main hero also had the same life history as that of Tanjiro Kamado from the series. The game’s hero happens to be slaying demons because his family was also slaughtered by demons.
Game Creator will end The Ear-Slaying Sword
The Ear-Slaying Sword has just recently launched on April 24, but news about ending the game’s service has been released to the public. The developers have decided to end the game on April 29, just days after its launch.

Although the reason for the termination of the game is not the issue of plagiarism, the game’s developer had sent their apologies for causing inconvenience to the public. Although the apology was released, the developer had denied the accusations regarding the plagiarism issue.
The game creator, Tennine denied the accusations of the plagiarism issues because of the similarities in the clothing styles of the two cultures. Furthermore, the game’s in-app purchases are also on halt. There are no actions from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba on the accusations.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will have a game version
Koyoharu Gotoge will not only limit Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as an anime series but future plans of making a game version are already in the works. The game version is said to reach the Playstation 4 and mobile gaming.
Aside from the future game plans, fans are also awaiting the second sequel of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. There are no final statements from the creator of the series, however, if there will be one, the production will have to start after the lockdown has been lifted.
