Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is coming to an end. After what seemed like long-winding journey, the Japanese manga comic series will officially end with Chapter 205.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba fans will have to savor the next chapter of the series as it will be the last one. The announcement regarding the finale was made public at the end of Chapter 204.

Series finale details

As announced, Chapter 205 of the manga series will be released on Sunday, May 17. It will be 24 pages long and will even come with a special color page in celebration of the end of Tanjiro’s journey.

A teaser of the last chapter’s plot has also been released by Shonen Jump and it says, “As time passes by, what will become of the future in a world without demons?” It came with an illustration of skyscrapers too.

It appears like writer and illustrator Koyoharu Gotōge will be setting chapter 205 further into the future. The story of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was based on the Taisho Era.

But with the details revealed, the next chapter will most likely show a modern era. The skyscraper clue also seems to indicate that it will be a long time jump from the events of Chapter 204.

Fans speculate that it’s going to be at least 30 to 40 years ahead. It doesn’t mean though that their world is now demon-free. Many are convinced that there may still more demons lurking in the city.

Chapter 204 spoilers

The plot of Demon Slayer chapter 204 is set three months into the future after the gruesome battle against Muzan, the first demon to ever exist.

They have already won the victory so the chapter focused more on healing and recovering. Survivors were recuperating at the Butterfly Estate. Tanjiro gained scars from the fight but with the help of the medicine from the “Hashira,” Shinobu, he is recovering well.

It was a tough fight for Tanjiro who had Muzan inside him. If he failed to fight against the will Muzan, things would have been bloodier and his friends would have been dead.

They defeated the demon but it came with a price–they lost most of the “Hashira.” Tanjiro and Nezuko are set to depart from their home after they recover.

Will there be a sequel?

At the moment, there aren’t a lot of information regarding a sequel or even a spin-off. All that is known is that Koyoharu Gotōge is ending it and plans of continuation are not up in the air.
