After the rough days in Japan theaters, here comes the first Demon Slayer movie gliding above the clouds.
With the exciting milestone of Demon Slayer, a Japanese government official praised the movie’s achievement and for lifting the country’s box office.
Throughout the world, the film industry is highly devastated by the coronavirus pandemic in the past months.
Several high-profile movies edited their schedules and pressed to accept that they are now bound for a 2021 release with the current situation.
But as Japan lifted its restrictions in cinemas, it seems that things got brighter in the country.
Thanks to the Demon Slayer movie hitting big in Japan’s economy. The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train entered the limelight as the restrictions in the country were lifted.
A Japanese official’s movie review
Japanese outlet LiveDoor recently announced a report via Reddit. The said announcement documented an official’s reaction to the film.
The country’s new Chief Cabinet Secretary, Katsunobu Katou, shared his praise for the anime. This is after the movie topped the global box office during its opening weekend.
Katou shared in a post that the domestic box office’s earnings this May are just one of the perfect matches from last year’s earnings. The cabinet secretary continued,
“Even in this such difficult circumstances, Demon Slayer managed to draw in a record-breaking number of moviegoers. This gives a huge boost to the local movie industry.”
In Katou’s recent talk, he shared about his love in series such as Attack on Titan. Also, he discussed that the manga caught him up. Before the release of the Demon Slayer movie, he could binge-watch the Demon Slayer TV show.

A big-time fan
It is not questionable why Katou fell in love with the movie. If one has followed the film, it is understandable why a high-ranking personality like him became attached to the anime franchise.
In the opening weekend, the franchise achieved staggering figures. The movie broke all sorts of records.
Since the film opened last Friday, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train already grossed more than $43 million. And for its first day, it earned more than $12 million.
Meanwhile, to pack screenings as much as possible, theaters prompted to lift COVID-19 restrictions.
