Demon Slayer Mugen Train slays the big screens despite the ongoing pandemic, and it showed how powerful a Japanese creation could be.
Since the first quarter of the year, the coronavirus pandemic has already affected the entertainment and film industries worldwide.
In fact, even Hollywood experienced the fatalistic impact of the health crisis.
Amid these issues, Japan waved its flag again through Demon Slayer Mugen Train. Currently, it broke multiple records already.
In Oct. 2020, the movie treatment of the award-winning film debuted in selected theaters globally.
Since its release, the anime flick keeps on breaking records.
On Oct. 26, it became the fastest film to gain over $150 million in box office sales in Japan. Demon Slayer Mugen Train achieved the milestone within 10 days.
MANTANWEB also officially hailed the newest anime movie as the 10th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.
Previously, James Cameron’s Avatar held the record.
With these records, the anime already won, and everyone must be curious about how the anime film became successful amid trying times.
The avid fans unhesitantly jotted down their honest review and shared what the movie has that helps them to top the charts.
Demon Slayer Mugen Train gave the best ride amid pandemic
Daryl Harding of Crunchyroll warned his readers about the train they would not want to ride on. However, fans continuously board and enjoy the show.
The victory of its anime adaptation seemingly caused the success of the movie version.
The movies and productions faced hardships these past few months. But there is no single scene in the film that could make people feel like the creators had a hard time finishing it.
Harding pointed out that the Demon Slayer Mugen Train has realistic scenes — the ones people want to see in a masterpiece.
“[It] has some key animation layered over the top of live-action photos/videos. This not only helped the scenes look spectacular but helped drive the emotional intensity of what was happening on screen — but again, no spoilers!” he went on.
The extraordinary animation is something people should not miss
A blu-ray version may be available soon, but there is no better way to see the beauty of this anime but through big screens.
According to Alfred Toh of Mipon, UFOTABLE helped the anime enhanced its beauty even more. It is way shorter than the series, but it has a complete and superb storyline.
“It was extraordinary. Ufotable, the animation studio in charge of this movie, is a synonym for extraordinary animation,” he added.
Although he saw the first few minutes as something boring, the anime film claimed back its glory by offering the best scenes until the end.
It’s a standalone film
Most movies these days only add more stress to the viewers by offering tricky storylines and endings. The best thing about Demon Slayer Mugen Train is that it is a standalone film.
Japan Geeks’ website shared how they felt a rollercoaster ride while watching the movie.
Anyone can watch it whether they already read and watch the manga and series. This caused it to become an attention magnet as everyone wants something complete to fill the gaps in their lives during a pandemic.
“I found that lots of visitors laughing and crying on and off (so I did). Quite a few scenes touched my heartstrings on many occasions though I had known the story with the manga,” the author went on.
