Fans are eagerly anticipating the release date of Demon’s Souls for the PlayStation 5, but both Sony and the developers are yet to give in the details. However, a recent listing hints that the game will be a launch title for the console, after all.
Spotted by Gematsu, the PlayStation 5 remake has been rated in Korea. While this may not seem much, this rating might point to the fact that it will launch later this year. To be more specific, it could launch at the same time as the PlayStation 5.
The rating was given on August 13. Usually, when a game is rated, it most likely means that it will be releasing that same year. Another game that is rated in Korea is the Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is due to be released later this 2020.
For now, the launch lineup for the next PlayStation is still blurry. Having this highly anticipated remake becomes one of the launch titles that will do the console good in terms of sales.
Demon’s Souls is the godfather of all Soulsborne games. It introduced the hardcore game to the PlayStation 3, and it has since spawned countless other successors. The game is said to be the hardest in the series, but since it was only launched in Japan, not many got to play it.
The game will be a remake instead of a remaster. However, it will be 100% loyal to the source material. Like the Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy, the developers will make the game from the ground up with a new engine, hence the remake brand.
Once the game launches, fans can expect a tough game filled with dangerous enemies and daunting boss fights. Of course, as with any other Soulsborne games, players are going to die again and again. On top of all this, there will be RPG elements that will allow players to change their characters depending on their playstyle.
Demon’s Souls is arguably one of the most anticipated titles for the PlayStation 5. Hopefully, the game surpasses all expectations. Of course, fans are wishing that the rumors are indeed true and that the game will be launching later this year.
