The PlayStation 5 doesn’t have much to offer as launch titles, but the small library is still impressive. One of the upcoming games is the remake of the classic Demon’s Souls, and fans of the franchise are excited.
Not everyone got a chance to play the original Demon’s Souls when it was released. A lot of fans’ first game was Dark Souls. Now that the game is being remade and released on the PlayStation 5, newcomers have the chance to enjoy this FromSoftware masterpiece. Here are a few tips and reminders before getting the game.
Release date
The game will be a launch day title for the PlayStation 5. This means it will be available on Nov. 12 in the US and Nov. 19 elsewhere. Sadly, it’s a PlayStation 5 exclusive. However, Sony could still release the game on PC as it did with its other exclusives.
What to expect
This game is a complete remake of the original. FromSoftware made a complete overhaul of the game, which is why it is considered a remake instead of a remaster. Those who’ve played the first game will be very familiar with the layout of the dungeons and the patterns of the bosses.
Tips
As compared to FromSoftware’s recent release – Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the game will have more RPG elements. These include a weapon and armor system, as well as character levelling. What this means for players is that they can grind their way to becoming stronger if they are having issues with a certain boss.
In Demon’s Souls, players will be faced with some of the toughest bosses in the franchise. Diehard Souls series fans often comment that the first game is one of the toughest in the series. It will be exciting to see how this difficulty translates to modern consoles.
As always, this Souls game is about dying and learning from one’s mistakes. Players are going to see the infamous “You Are Dead” screen over and over again. Players shouldn’t give up, though, as they’ll eventually learn a bosses’ pattern after enough retries.
The Demon’s Souls remake is one of the many reasons why a lot of gamers are getting the PlayStation 5 on launch day. Players have a lot of expectations from this game, but first and foremost, they already know what they are heading into. Just a few more weeks and players are going to be able to access this masterpiece.
