Despite a shorter campaign, ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ will be huge!

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be a very huge and lengthy game. Yes, it has a shorter campaign story, but it’s not at all small.

According to Gamedebate, CDPR’s QA Lead, Lukasz Babiel just recently posted a screenshot. It showed his gameplay duration of Cyberpunk 2077 so far. And the total playtime stood at a whopping 175 hours! Yes, that’s true, and interestingly these stats are from just the “Nomad lifepath.”

This reveal is actually big since many people were worried that the game’s main story is small in duration. However, to complete that story, the entire game elements will take long hours. Die-hard gamers love to spend a huge amount of gameplay time exploring big video games like these. So, it’s positive news for them indeed, since it’s an ambitious open-world “AAA” title.

Cyberpunk 2077 release and other details

Another thing to be noted is that CDPR’s Babiel also mentioned that his playtime was on the “hardest difficulty” level. And he took proper time in looting, stealth activities, and other features. In simple words, he said that for a normal gamer, too, Cyberpunk will turn out as a lengthy offering.

One reason for the game’s immersive world but shorter campaign is that CDPR’s The Witcher 3 faced a similar response in the past. Many people didn’t actually complete that game due to the vast atmosphere and contents involved in the story. So it was yet another huge release from the developer.

Regarding the release of the anticipated video game, CD Projekt Red confirmed a few days ago that December ten is the final date. And there are no more chances of extended delays.

The story of delays and crunch and the final reveal

The controversy around this upcoming and highly awaited game is quite long. In 2020, it grew towards another level after the developers announced a further delay before its November release. The issue of crunch or overdrive led to criticism across many social media platforms.

However, several renowned developers in the gaming industry defended CDPR and said that a crunch situation is normal. Because on a big “AAA” title like this, it becomes crucial to check that it’s running totally fine.

Earlier this month, an anonymous Twitter account spread fake rumors of another delay. It said that Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn’t arrive in December also. And that it will release in 2021 only. CDPR immediately denied such claims and confirmed that it’s coming next month, no matter what. Now, the fans are just hoping that they get their hands on it as soon as possible.
