Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is coming out for next-gen consoles. The updated version of the game will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch.
In today’s PS5 games showcase, Capcom showed off a brand new trailer. The Japanese company is bringing out Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition with new features and updates. Apart from graphical upgrades, fans will also get a much-awaited character.
DMC5: SE to add Vergil new playable character
Devil May Cry 5 has been one of the best hack and slash offerings of recent years. The game is a ton of fun and a great iteration of the entire franchise. The title lets gamers slay demons either as Dante, Nero, or V.
In the upcoming Special Edition, a fourth player character is coming in the form of Vergil. In the previous iterations of the game, Vergil was always an alternate player character. He tends to be an end-game reward due to his overpowered katana, Yamato.
The announcement trailer itself advertised Vergil’s skills front, back, and center. For those who already own DMC5 on the PS4, Xbox, and PC, Vergil will be available at a later date. He will be available as paid DLC, in addition to the original title.
Capcom adds Turbo Mode and 120 FPS to Special Edition
In a separate blog, Capcom notes there are other add-ons to Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. In addition to Vergil, the fan-favorite Turbo Mode will be making a comeback.
Turbo Mode makes the game 20% faster, which gives the game an extra challenge. While enemies attack faster, the combos will also look sleeker and more fun. The Legendary Dark Knight difficulty will provide fans with more ways to satisfy their cravings.
DMC5: SE will also have many performance improvements and graphical upgrades. It will take advantage of the new consoles’ ray-tracing capabilities. The extra horsepower in the consoles will also power it to an optional 120 FPS Mode.
All these additions are making the next-gen consoles enticing. In addition to DMC5, the PS5 will also have a Demon’s Souls remake and Final Fantasy XVI. This makes next-gen worth it, and the PC versions better with the upcoming RTX GPUs.
Devil May Cry 5 is worth every penny sunk into it. The game is vast, fun, and ambitious. It’s loads of butt-kicking, and with next-gen graphics, it will look sweeter for sure.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will retail at US$40 for the next-gen consoles. The game will also be available for the secondary consoles, mainly the PS5 Digital and Xbox Series S. The Special Edition will launch November 10.
