The Horizon Zero Dawn PC port is not doing well with its slew of technical issues. The problems are leading the game to oblivion, and the devs noticed.
The Horizon Zero Dawn PC experience is a mixed bag. Players won’t know what performance they will get from the game. The devs at Guerrilla Games know about the issue and are trying to address it.
The Zero Dawn PC port is bad
Having Zero Dawn on PC is a much-awaited launch. The multi-awarded title stayed on the Playstation for a while, with many players eagerly waiting. The wait finally ended, but so far, not everyone is happy.
The game has ridiculous system requirements. The numbers tend to be a reasonable justification as Zero Dawn is beautiful. The graphics are what make the title excellent.
Even then, player mileage may vary depending on their rig. Some players experience smooth gameplay with zero issues at all. Others, even with the same specs, experience lag, stutters, and variable framerates.
Players are complaining about the game, and they’re doing their best to be audible. Complaints are coming left and right on Reddit and Steam. Zero Dawn for PC so far has a “mixed” review on Steam and sits tight.
Guerrilla Games will address technical issues
Guerrilla Games released a statement this weekend, noting they’re investigating issues. The Horizon Zero Dawn PC version will likely get a patch soon.
“We have been monitoring all of our channels and are aware that some players have been experiencing crashes and other technical issues,” said the statement. “Please know that we are investigating your reports as our highest priority.”
The devs seem to look at the game’s optimization. Crashes and bugs are some of the most erratic out there. It doesn’t help that the game can crash from near-identical specs with PCs that work.
“We appreciate those who have already taken the time to report their issues on Steam, Reddit, or via our website,” the statement further said. “If you are still encountering crashes or bugs, please continue to use those spaces, or refer to our FAQ if you are unsure of how to proceed. Your reports are, and have already been, incredibly helpful for our teams.”
“Thank you for your patience as we continue to investigate issues; we will update you all as soon as we have more news.”
Once Guerrilla resolves the issues, they’re likely to see improvements in reviews. The game is one of the most stellar titles in history and likely an instant classic. Until then, it’s best to wait for Horizon Zero Dawn PC to get a fix.
