Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the monarchy to have a private life. But as they chose to stay in Los Angeles, some question if they want to stay away from the spotlight.

In a discussion on Quora, netizens weigh in on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to stay in LA. Some even said that it might not be the spotlight that they wanted to avoid, but the work itself.

The alleged reason behind the Sussexes’ Megxit

Margaret Amber Thomas believed it wasn’t the limelight that the Sussexes hated.

“They seemed to adore the adulation and flashbulbs,” she said. “In MY OPINION, it was just the work they hated.”

Sarah Jones concurred with Thomas’ assertion. “Because the work wasn’t about her,” Jones said.

L Julia added that the former actress seemed uncomfortable at certain events, especially if she’s not the “main attraction. “At events like SmartWorks, she does fine. It’s all about control,” she explained.

Not everyone agrees that Meghan Markle, allegedly, hate royal work

Not everyone believes Prince Harry and Meghan hate their royal duties.

Pat Williams asked Thomas if it’s the work they hated, why they’re still doing some charity works.

“Meghan has been involved in charity projects since high school, all throughout college and even while filming Suits,” he explained. “Meghan has served as an Ambassador to the UN on women’s issues and projects.”

“Please tell me how All of a sudden she doesn’t want to work?” Williams asked.

Eleanor Irvine echoed the same sentiment. “Meghan’s staff complained because she worked too hard, and they couldn’t keep up,” she revealed.

Irvin commended Meghan for being a hard worker even before she met Prince Harry. “That’s why she has been so successful in life because she is a hard worker,” she added. “Even the Queen acknowledged that!”

Sol Andria revealed the couple’s biography, Finding Freedom, disclosed Prince Harry was the one who wanted to have a private life.

The couple will remain on the spotlight no matter what

Meanwhile, royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Prince Harry and Meghan would remain in the spotlight even if they’re already in LA.

“One of the key issues for them is that they are in the spotlight,” she said. “They attract a huge amount of attention.”

“Their concern has always been how they would balance their private lives with their public roles,” she continued.

Recently, they made headlines for taking legal action against the drones repeatedly circling their home. Paparazzi even managed to take a photo of their 1-year-old child, Archie.

“If they had gone to LA hoping for a quieter life, where they could duck out of the spotlight,” Nicholls added about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move. “They were sorely mistaken.”
