Princess Beatrice suffered from allegations that she cut Ed Sheeran’s face, causing him to have a scar on his cheeks.
For years, Princess Beatrice endured comments from Ed Sheeran’s fans for, allegedly, cutting his face.
Now, nearly four years later, Sheeran’s manager, Stuart Camp, set the records straight.
During the Straight Up podcast’s recent episode, Camp said that they never heard anything from Princess Beatrice ever since the rumors emerged.
He added that he had not heard hide nor hair before adding that he felt quite protective since they never talked about it.
“Certain people said, ‘Oh, you should lie and say it wasn’t her and say it was someone else,” the manager recalled. “I said, ‘Well, we’re not telling anyone anything.'”
The camp insisted that he did not lie. He then confessed that an idiot just began waving a sword around when everyone was already drunk.
He then joked about the partygoers, calling them paralytic when they surrendered the sword. Per Sheeran’s manager, people ask for trouble when they hang out with troublesome people.
What the reports said
Reports that the royal princess accidentally cut the singer first emerged in 2017.
Per the rumors, Sheeran partied with the princess and James Blunt at Royal Lodge in Windsor when it happened. The statements added that Princess Beatrice pretended to knight Blunt using the ceremonial sword. Unfortunately, she accidentally sliced the singer’s face.
Meanwhile, Vulture also released related news about this. The news outlet claimed that Sheeran mentioned to Absolute Radio that he did not know what happened.
The 29-year-old singer finally knew what was going on when he looked down at his shirt, which was already covered with blood.
The alleged accident then caused him to receive medical treatment, and it left a scar on his face. Furthermore, Sheeran, reportedly, did not want to drop names.
Did Princess Beatrice really cut Sheeran?
In 2017, Blunt already told Shortlist magazine that Sheeran cut himself while “drunk, messing around.”
The singer also refused that Princess Beatrice was involved in the accident.
“We made a fancy story up; people fell for it,” he said. “It was very embarrassing.”
Until now, Princess Beatrice is yet to release a comment on whether she really did it or not. But knowing how much fake news can occur in one day surely teaches people to wait for an official statement first.
