They already have collections of beautiful and rare digital art. They’ve long had a warm, fuzzy feeling that comes from knowing that they were one of the first people to spot the opportunity and load up on digital currencies and NFTs.
As crypto valuations have risen and their collections have grown, they already own everything they could want to possess. The growth of the blockchain has enabled them to indulge their love of fine wines, fast cars, and beautiful homes—or it will do as soon as they decide they’re ready to stop hodling and cash in their good fortune.
So, what’s left to own for someone who can have everything they want?
The answer might just be a possession of The Bitcoin Collection.
A new and exclusive NFT series, The Bitcoin Collection is aimed at the sophisticated NFT collector. At 12 pm EST, on the 21st of each month, the collection will release three exclusive variations. The sale will take place for a short time.
Included in the sale is a special, animated 3D card commemorating the launch of the Genesis block. The coin, spinning above a marble base, is engraved with the Bitcoin launch date and its price of zero on January 3, 2009. Also included in the sale are 21 exclusive pieces by leading digital artist Vesa Kivinen, and a single ultra-rare variation.
Each month, The Bitcoin Collection will release more extremely limited cards produced by additional artists. The cards will commemorate the highlights of each year of Bitcoin’s history and the price milestones the currency has reached so far. Participants in the sale receive a token to which The Bitcoin Collection will drop the 21 limited edition art pieces at random.
The Bitcoin Collection comes from the same people who made Blockchain Heroes but the new collection represents a change in style and a further development in NFT collectibles. The first NFT collections have been fun and whimsical. Cryptokitties, the Garbage Pail Kids, and Blockchain Heroes all emphasized entertainment. They took their inspiration from trading cards and while the artwork they offered was valuable and collectible, the projects showed what NFT tokens could do.
As more collectible art has become available, projects like Uplift.art and Async.art have shown that NFTs can also support serious creativity. Async.art has already generated more than $1 million in artist sales despite being launched only a year ago.
The cryptocurrency expert who has everything can now get to own a unique and desirable piece of digital art, but digital art itself is getting serious.
