Director of ‘It Takes Two’ defends ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has faced constant criticism from all directions. However, it just got support from Josef Fares.

The director of It Takes Two recently said that Cyberpunk 2077 has gone through enough backlash. And now there’s no need to keep bashing it any further endlessly.

However, he did say that a developer as prominent as CD Projekt Red should’ve prevented unexpected bugs and issues before the launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 and its many controversies

Josef Fares had an interview with Games Award host Geoff Keighley. In that, he talked about a lot of things, including the CDPR title.

After the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 last December, one of its critics was also PlayStation boss Jim Ryan. He had expressed a lot of disappointment towards the game. So it wasn’t just the social media group that was angry about its gameplay and performance.

And considering that, It Takes Two’s director said that the outcry that the game received was justified to a certain point. However, he called the reaction of gamers a “witch hunt.”

He didn’t explain his term, though.

But speaking of the entire situation, he said that the constant bashing went too far because it wasn’t the first time that a “AAA” title failed to deliver on the expectations.

And according to him, Cyberpunk 2077 is no exception. It’s just that it’s still getting many issues regarding gameplay and graphics, which is serious and must be taken care of by CDPR.

What’s next for the 2020’s most significant launch?

All said and done; the CD Projekt Red title has a lot of ground to cover in 2021. Because technically speaking, this is the year in which it can get a resurrection.

And it will be possible only after continuous polishing and quick updates. Recently, the developer announced that there would be a slight delay for the next patch to arrive. It’s because some attackers hacked the developer’s website and stole a lot of game data.

Coming back to the game itself then there are still issues for many players on different consoles. They must be addressed in the coming months. Otherwise, 2020’s most significant launch might end up in anonymity.

There are few positive things about the title which can help it in becoming a deserving masterpiece. Firstly, due to a great story, as per many gamers so far, it has a USP of character building.

Being a futuristic, open-world game, it already has a lot of scope for modding and improvements. So there should be a lot of focus on these things from the developer’s side. Only if it wants to make it a memorable video game in recent years.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, Xbox, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
