‘Dirty John’ season 2 returns to non-US Netflix subscribers with Betty Broderick story

Dirty John returns to Netflix for the second season, but it will have a completely different story. Dirty John season 2 is about the murderer, Betty Broderick.

The release of Dirty John season 1 captivated a lot of viewers when the series initially aired in 2018. The crime series follows the true to life events of Debra Newell and John Meehan.  The first season revealed the truth on how the psychopath, John Meehan preyed on Debra Newell and her family. 

The meeting of John Meehan(Eric Bana) and Debra Newell(Connie Britton) in October 2014 started the relationship that would change Debra’s life. The relationship turned into psychological manipulation.

Dirty John season 2 is about Betty Broderick

Dirty John season 2 gets the title, Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story which explored the real-life story of Betty Broderick in the 1980s. Season 2 takes a completely different route of exposing a gruesome murder. The court convicted Betty Broderick of killing her husband and his second wife. 

The plot of Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story explored the relationship between Betty and her college boyfriend, Dan. The two married, but Betty sacrificed her life to support her husband throughout medical and law school.

 When Dan found a job in San Diego Legal community, Betty was relieved. However, the problem started when Dan hired a young beautiful woman. Betty Broderick suspected her husband of having an affair. When the couple finally divorced, Betty ultimately shot Dan and his second wife, Linda while they were sleeping.

When is the release date of Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story

 Season 2 of the crime TV series will premiere on the USA Network on June 2, 2020. 

Will Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story air on Netflix?

Fortunately, the giant streaming service will air season 2 since Netflix co-produced the series. However, the right to air is only available outside the US.  The US subscribers will have to wait for nine months before season 2 can be available.

For the rest of non-US Netflix subscribers, season 2 will either be available weekly or it will become available once the series concluded.

In the meantime, fans will be able to watch a glimpse of the Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story in its recently released trailer.
