Detective RPG Disco Elysium will launch its final version, called Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. Studio ZA/UM announced the release will come out March 30.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut will be a free upgrade for existing owners of the game. The new version will add a ton of new political vision quests, together with more than one million new lines of dialogue.
Studio ZA/UM to add quality of life features to game
Disco Elysium is one of the best RPG titles on PC and consoles today. The game came out in October 2019 and gained ground for many of its unique and groundbreaking features.
For starters, the game has a unique, 60’s to 70’s neo-noir motown look. Everything in the game was unbelievably dour and melancholic. The player also took on the mantle of an incompetent alcoholic detective out to look for his purpose.
Elysium also used a new stats system and heavily branching narrative virtually unseen in modern games. The isometric style offered a world that was both lived-in but as equally depressing by the character dialogue.
The new Final Cut will add a few crucial quality of life features that can help players get over the hump. For starters, the new voice acting will help players who don’t want to commit to the excessive reading required by Elysium.
There are also new paths that can warrant those who finished the game for a replay. There are extra locations, fresh cutscenes, new characters, clothes, and much more.
Disco Elysium also gets Collector’s Edition
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut received a lot of fanfare when Studio ZA/UM announced the release. This last version will be a definitive experience for those looking to enjoy the game.

“We won’t spoil them here, but let’s just say one new feature might have you reconsider if teleportation really is possible,” said the blog post on Steam. “On a less mysterious note, we want to give a shout out to our animator, Eduardo Rubio, who has added a ton of new animations for you all to enjoy. As we’ve said before, we also have full English voiceover, new political vision quests, and new characters for you to meet.”
Together with the Final Cut version, ZA/UM also announced the Collector’s Edition for Disco Elysium. The Collector’s Edition will include a fabric map of Martinaise, the official art book, a high-quality ‘Mind Totem’, and a physical copy of the game.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut will be out for PC and other platforms on March 30. For PS5, Disco Elysium will come with other indie games over the next few weeks.
