In a surprise out of nowhere, Disgaea 4 Complete+ is now out on Steam. The NIS title arrived on PC to catch all the sweet money players are ready to throw.
For the longest time, players have clamored for Disgaea to come to PC. Developer Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) heard players and announced the game in July. Disgaea 4 Complete+ received a “fall” release date, with no exact day.
Now, the game is out, and the players are happy. The title is also available on the Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Disgaea 4 was a quintessential experience
The original Disgaea 4 came out on the Playstation 3 in 2011. The game follows Valvatorez, a vampire leading a rebellion. The player is looking to depose the current president of the Netherworld.
Players would need to go on an adventure around Earth and the underworld. Throughout their exploits, they’ll unravel several mysteries of their current situation. They will unravel puppeteers pulling strings, and a plot against both worlds.
During its first release, Disgaea 4 was the quintessential Nippon Ichi experience. The game was a blast, and fans of the title thoroughly enjoyed it. While not as groundbreaking as Persona 4 Golden, Disgaea had its fair share of fans.
Players can unlock as many as 30 characters in the game, quite rare for new titles. Players can also march towards Lvl 9999, which is a sight to behold.
Now, the game is out for PC fans to enjoy on their rigs. Disgaea 4 came out last year for consoles. Even then, the recent success of Japanese titles convinced studios to add the game on PC.
New Disgaea for PC launches without online capability
Disgaea 4 Complete+ is, ironically, incomplete at launch. The game doesn’t have its online capabilities yet. The original online features of the game include the ability to invade other players’ games.
Devs of the game promised that these are coming at some point in the future. In the game’s forums, a dev notes that there’s “no news on when the online features will be added as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.”
It seems this is different from the problem with Disgaea 5’s PC port. Disgaea 5 had to leave out much of their online functionality “due to irreconcilable platform differences.”
The game is hot off the pressers so far, and NIS America has something special for fans. Disgaea 4 Complete+ is on a steep 25% discount, together with all other Disgaea titles. Disgaea 1 and 2, for example, have a delicious 80% discount until September 18.
