Disney+ has a new superhero movie franchise potential in the Secret Society of Second-Born Royals, and director Anna Mastro said it may have two more follow-ups.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals premiered on the streaming platform on Sept. 25 after a push back in July. Alex Livak and Andrew Green wrote a story about a group of second-born royal family kids who developed superpowers when they came of age.
Thinking they were supposed to be in summer school, the second-born royals were eventually pooled and trained to harness their skills and protect each other’s kingdom. The head of the society is played by French actress Elodie Young as one of the kids’ mother.
Though the streaming platform has yet to sign on for the next chapter, Mastro said that the story has two more sequel potentials.
“I do think that there’s a three-part chapter to this little franchise here,” Mastro said in an interview with Collider. “Hopefully, I’ll be directing it and figuring out the story.”

Next mission: Capturing January
Sam (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), Matteo (Faly Rakotohavana), Roxana (Olivia Deeble) and Tuma (Niles Fitch) succeeded in becoming bonafide members of the Secret Society of Second-Born Royals at the end of the movie. However, they have a huge task ahead of them in finding their former friend, January (Isabella Blake-Thomas).
It’s assumed that January learned how she’s able to retain the powers she steals from the others. It answers why she escaped and planned her next steps while her friends proved their worth to the leaders.
Retrieving January is actually the group’s first assignment. Last they learned the Luxembourg princess broke into a bank vault for money she could pay off a mercenary group. She is planning a coup against her older brother.
But knowing that such a society exists, January has likely come up with ways to stop her friends. This sets up some exciting events and confrontation for the sequel if Disney+ green light the project.
Will Prince Harry cameo?
Meanwhile, the society’s trainer, Skylar Astin, who plays James Morrow, said that he hopes Prince Harry, a real second-born royal, could cameo in the series. This has apparently been an ongoing discussion while they were making the first move.
“I could see Prince Harry and James Morrow getting along and having some really great banter,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight. Astin said he might have to personally ask the Duke of Sussex to join their movie.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is still streaming on Disney+.
