Disney+ tweaked the date of their upcoming Marvel spinoff series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, moving it further towards the end of the year.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) offshoot television series centered on the unlikely duo of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has hit a bit of a snag, as Disney amended the show’s initial premiere date on their streaming service.
Originally slated for an August 2020 reveal, the series’ official trailer description was recently changed to Fall 2020, meaning it could debut anytime between late September to December.
Marvel’s other upcoming TV show Wandavision, featuring Scarlet Witch and Vision, remains on track for December this year.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
The series will pick up right after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will be canon to overarching MCU, revolving around the exploits of Sam Wilson aka Falcon, and Bucky Barns—better known as The Winter Soldier.
As fans may recall, Captain America handed Falcon his iconic shield during Endgame’s final scenes, heralding the birth of a new Cap. Still unsure what to make of it all, Falcon will team up with the metal-armed badass Winter Soldier to take on missions across the globe.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be reprising their titular roles respectively, with director Kari Skogland helming the project. Skogland has also worked on Fear the Walking Dead and The Punisher TV series in the past.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is scheduled for a six-episode run, and will be the first part of MCU’s “Phase Four.”
Other shows in the Marvel’s expanded universe
Wandavision is another new canon Marvel show currently in the works, starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision.
So far, all that’s known about the series is that Wanda and Vision feel like something’s amiss, as they find themselves stuck in what looks like a montage of sitcoms from different eras.
Just like Sam and Bucky’s show, Wandavision is slated for six episodes and will be another part of “Phase Four.”

Fan-favorite character Loki—played by Tom Hiddleston—is also getting his own show, after the character seemingly met his demise at the hands of Thanos in Endgame.
Fortunately for fans of the devilish trickster, it seems news of his death may have been greatly exaggerated.
The upcoming series will be canon to the movie universe as well and will be focusing on Loki as he wreaks havoc along the timeline with the Tesseract for six episodes sometime next year.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier should prove to be an interesting buddy-cop show that may play a major part in the introduction of a new Captain America to the MCU.
