Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the most anticipated titles of this year. The game is going to be a huge step for the franchise in general, and we’ve got a lot of new details about it and its gameplay features.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Quest Director Philippe Bergeron recently opened up about the gameplay features in the upcoming title. The new gameplay footage shows some of the most impressive aspects of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game.
Assaults
Assaults or raids are going to be common in the game. Using the longship, Eivor can initiate raids against enemy strongholds or towns with the help of his or her allies. There’s more depth to assaults as compared to the wars found in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The similarity is that in both modes, players will be using their army to face off with the enemy’s army as well. This is one of the more challenging parts of the upcoming game.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Boss fights
Boss fights are in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as well. As expected, boss fights are going to be a lot tougher than regular battles. These will need more strategy and skill as compared to fighting a grunt. Eivor will fight against formidable warriors in one-on-one duels.
In some of the boss fights, there will be some special obstacles or gimmicks that players will have to defend themselves against as well. Before players get into a boss fight, it’s a must that they are properly leveled and equipped. It’s also important to have mastered the fighting in the game.
Flyting and drinking contests
The game will also feature an assortment of fun minigames. One of which is flying. Flyting is the art of throwing insults at each other. It’s basically a Viking version of rap battles. In the game, players will have a few seconds to respond to his or her opponent’s insult. The goal is to pick the insult that rhymes.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Viking game without any alcohol involved. In the game, Eivor can partake in these contests throughout the world. There will also be rewards for finishing these special drinking games.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 this November 17. Upgraded versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will arrive once the consoles become available this holiday season. Ubisoft has yet to confirm if owners of the current versions will get an upgrade for free.
