Following the collapse of the Terra (LUNA) and TerraUSD (UST) ecosystems in May, hacktivist collective Anonymous has threatened to “make sure” Terra co-founder Do Kwon is “brought to justice as soon as possible.”
In order to expose Kwon’s alleged crimes, the hacking group announced it will be investigating his activities ever since he entered the cryptosphere.
Anonymous address Do Kwon in new video
On Sunday, a video purporting to be from the hacking collective Anonymous repeated a long list of Kwon’s alleged offenses. The alleged crimes include withdrawing $80 million per month from TerraUSD and Luna before it collapsed.
“Do Kwon, if you are listening, sadly, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage that you have done,” Anonymous said. “At this point, the only thing that we can do is hold you accountable and make sure that you are brought to justice as soon as possible.”<
Reactions
Commenters on the YouTube video and the Twitter community appeared to back the hacker group’s commitment to go after Kwon. The video statement, however, elicited greater suspicion on the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit, with members slamming the hacker group for presenting a hollow threat against Kwon while providing no new information to the public.
For the time being, it appears that Kwon will be concerned with larger, more tangible threats.
The South Korean authorities are currently investigating Terraform Labs’ activities.
Who are Anonymous?
Anonymous, a decentralized multinational activist collective that got its start in 2003 on 4chan, is well known for planning cyberattacks against public and private organizations, businesses, and even the Church of Scientology.
It’s worth noting that there are several YouTube channels that call themselves partners with the cyber collective Anonymous. However, given the group’s naturally decentralized and anonymous nature, it is generally agreed that there isn’t an official YouTube channel for it.
