Dolly Parton is proving that age is just a number with an intense birthday tribute.
In her recent interview on BBC’s “Radio 5 Live” with hosts Scott Mills and Chris Stark, the award-winning country singer was asked if she were to continue posing for Playboy magazine as she celebrates her 75th birthday.
Without having a second thought, the “Joline” hitmaker reveals that she’s up for the idea if it was in “good taste.”
‘” Yeah, I just might do it, if I can do it in good taste and they want it [and] we’ll do it along with a really good interview inside. So, yeah, we’ve talked about it.”
Dolly Parton’s rise in her career
The Tennessee-born singer has cemented her name in the entertainment industry after debuting in 1967 with her first studio album, “Hello, I’m Dolly.”
With her vocal prowess and charm, the blonde beauty became the country music icon and later paved the way to her success outside the music industry.
This includes her musical fantasy film “A Smoky Mountain Christmas” and her recent anthology drama web series “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” which debuted on Netflix in November 2019.
In 2001, the “Down from Dower” singer was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999.
First female artist to don bunny outfit
Moreover, Dolly Parton is also the first country singer to appear in the men’s lifestyle and entertainment magazine, donning the Playboy bunny outfit in 1978.
Dubbed as the “country queen,” then-32-year-old blonde bombshell posed in a strapless black top complete with bunny ears and bedazzled bow tie and cuff.
Interestingly, the “Islands in the Stream” songstress previously expressed her interest in posing for Playboy for the second time around.
Dolly Parton Says She Won’t Retire
In her interview with “60 Minutes Australia,” earlier this year, the triple threat revealed that she has no plans on slowing down and plans to land on the covers of the men’s magazine for the celebration of her big 7-5.
“I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74, and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again. “See I did Playboy magazine years ago, and I thought it’d be such a hoot if they’ll go for it — I don’t know if they will — if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75.”
In addition, she joked that her “boobs are still the same” and might wear the same outfit for the new magazine cover.
