Donald Trump, Mike Pence both ignore COVID-19 threats 9 days before Election Day

Donald Trump and Mike Pence continue with their public outings amid COVID-19 risks even if the virus has already spread among their inner circles.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence are still working hard just days before Election day. According to CNN, a number of Pence’s staffers contracted the virus, but the vice-presidential candidate is not slowing down.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence want to open America

Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence didn’t show any sign of slowing down even if a number of his staff members tested positive for coronavirus. Pence’s chief of staff tested positive on Saturday.

Marty Obst, a senior adviser to Pence, and three staffers also tested positive, sources told CNN. Pence’s longtime aide, Zach Bauer, also contracted the virus. But Pence still wants to continue campaigning and open the country just like Trump.

“We’re going to keep opening up America again,” he said in a rally on Sunday.

Should Pence come off the trail?

Despite the multiple people who tested positive around Mike Pence, he tested negative for COVID-19 on Sunday. And he is refusing to quarantine and even plans to continue traveling and campaigning daily.

President Donald Trump was asked for an opinion on whether Pence should come off the trail or not.

“You have to ask him, he’s doing very well, good crowds, very socially distanced, he’s doing very well,” Trump told reporters per CNN.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declined to answer the same question when asked about Pence staying away due to the members of his team who tested positive for the virus. But New Jersey’s former Republican Gov. Chris Christie didn’t hide her surprise because she was expecting him to quarantine.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden condemn Trump’s ways

Both Barack Obama and Joe Biden are against Donald Trump’s approach because, for them, the POTUS lacks a strategy to halt the spread of the virus.

“Eight months into this pandemic, new cases are breaking records. Donald Trump isn’t going to suddenly protect all of us. He can’t even take the basic steps to protect himself,” Obama said in Florida.

“There’s no sense that he’s coming up with a new approach, with a new plan. He doesn’t even acknowledge that there’s a problem.”

Meanwhile, Trump said in a tweet that Obama was campaigning for him because when the ex-POTUS speaks, the people come over to their side.

Trump also criticized Biden for allegedly being disrespectful to Obama. Trump and a number of netizens felt that Biden threw Obama under the bus over their failed immigration policies.
