Donald Trump seems to mock the coronavirus pandemic as he continues with his efforts for re-election, according to a report.
Donald Trump has reported no signs of COVID-19 symptoms after his diagnosis. In his previous statements, the POTUS said he was doing good. Trump has resumed his presidential campaigns, which worry many Americans due to the pandemic.
Donald Trump downplaying virus
Stephen Collinson of CNN slammed Donald Trump for allegedly mocking coronavirus with his potential superspreading events.
“Trump painted a deeply dishonest picture of the nation’s battle with the disease, mocked former Vice President Joe Biden over social distancing and vowed victory on November 3 as he began a frantic push to Election Day, marked by multiple rallies a day that could act as superspreader events,” Collinson wrote.
The POTUS was also quoted saying, “I feel so powerful” and “I’ll just give everybody a big, fat kiss.”
Collinson noted that Trump’s campaign trail coincided with the rising alarm among Republicans about Trump’s sliding poll numbers.
CNN political reporter Maeve Reston also had the same opinion about the POTUS. For her, Trump has not learned after contracting the virus, and he is endangering the Americans with his public outings.
Reston noted how just nine days after his coronavirus diagnosis Trump was back to choosing his “familiar tactics of denial, risk and ignorance.” Reston slammed the POTUS’ campaign rallies instead of mitigating risks.
Trump during the rally
The White House physician said Donald Trump has already tested negative for COVID-19 in consecutive days.
During his rally in Floria, Trump has returned to attacking his rival Joe Biden and making false claims of voting irregularities, according to Collinson.
“(Biden) may be the worst presidential candidate in history and I got him,” Trump said of Biden.
Trump doesn’t need the presidency
Donald Trump has gained a number of critics and supporters after taking over the White House. Earlier this month, he announced that he and his wife Melania tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement received mixed responses from Twitter users.
Some prayed for the POTUS and FLOTUS’ fast recovery. Meanwhile, others blamed them for not wearing masks. Several others speculated that he was faking it to avoid the presidential debate.
Trump was well days before the scheduled presidential debate but declined to participate after the committee decided to have it virtually.
His son Eric Trump defended Trump from his critics saying that his dad lost a fortune for running as president. He added that Trump only wanted to do what’s right and he doesn’t need the job.
