Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey announced its mobile app Bluesky is rapidly developing.
Bluesky, a decentralized Twitter alternative now works as an invite-only application and has compiled more than 2,000 installs on iOS. According to the reports, the application is still not available to Android users.
According to reports, the application looks quite similar to Twitter regarding feeds, comments and reposts. It is possible to post up to 265 characters and users are able to mute, block and share accounts. However, the main difference seems to be the fact that the platform enables decentralized social network protocol meaning, no government corporation will be able to influence user data.
The whole project is developed on top of the AT protocol, “ a new federated social network that integrates ideas from the latest decentralized technologies into a simple, fast, and open network”.
Dorsey’s Bluesky has already released its first batch of code in May 2022 and in October, it has officially introduced the Bluesky social app and the AT protocol.
