Team Nigma of “DOTA 2” relocated their headquarters in Abu Dhabi earlier in March.
Team Nigma recently updated the DOTA 2 community regarding their latest movements. On Monday, the organization, alongside Etihad Airways, announced their “landmark” partnership.
Reports said that they have become the “first esports team ever” to obtain sponsorship from a major airline. As noted, it is the second flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, according to Dexerto.
It remains undisclosed, though, the exact content of the partnership. The same is also true regarding the extent of the contract, as well as the financial details of the sponsorship. Nevertheless, the organization’s official website has provided the public with a few details regarding the deal.
About the partnership with Etihad Airways
Team Nigma announced that Etihad Airways would ensure their organizations’ flight experiences to be of the finest quality. As specified, the airline will provide a relaxing and refreshing trip for the team, as well as the support staff.
This “unique” partnership “further cements” Nigma’s position in the esports industry. It also allows the organization to “grow within the billion-dollar” sector, the official statement read.
The team’s co-founder, Mohamed Morad, later on shared his thoughts about the long-term partnership. He said that Etihad Airways would help the team and staff to reach new levels, especially when traveling across the globe to “face the top Dota 2 teams.”

What Team Nigma had to say
Heads and executives over at the organization had a few things to say, as well, regarding the partnership with Etihad Airways. Co-Founder Christoph Timm expressed his gratitude toward the airline for its commitment to Team Nigma.
He also described the support as “admirable,” adding that this is just the beginning of their journey together. As for the DOTA 2 players themselves, they have yet to break their silence regarding the deal.
Despite this, though, the team’s official social media page on Twitter shared a photo of the players wearing a jersey with Etihad’s print on it. They are also standing in front of an arena with the airline’s name on the building.

A new home in Abu Dhabi for the DOTA 2 players
While the partnership has become a surprise, this is not the first time Team Nigma shocked the public in recent weeks. As fans would recall, the organization announced earlier in March that they are relocating their base to Abu Dhabi.
Reports confirmed that the DOTA 2 team’s future operations in the next five years would all take place in a “dedicated training facility” in U.A.E.’s capital. The move is said to have come as part of the organization’s new partnership with twofour54.
