Fans can now be sure that Dragon Prince Season 4 is coming after Wonderstorm announced the news at Comic Con’s virtual event.
More than a year after its third season ended, would it soon see the light of the day? Fans have been long waiting for the coming of The Dragon Prince Season 4.
However, it looks like viewers are still on a long waiting game before it finally hits the small screen.
Bardel Entertainment Inc., Wonderstorm collaboration
Bardel Entertainment Inc. will continue to co-produce the anime series with Wonderstorm from Season 4 to Season 7, per Devdiscourse.
“We are very excited to continue this creative collaboration with Wonderstorm and Netflix,” Bardel SVP of Development and Production Tina Chow said. “And expand this rich universe into another four seasons.”
Tina proudly added that their collaboration was a “perfect partnership.”
“Wonderstorm has a sweeping vision for this saga, and Bardel’s success has always come from pushing boundaries,” Chow continued. “We are delighted to go down this creative path with them again.”
New season’s possible plot and production
Meanwhile, along with the confirmation of Dragon Prince Season 4’s coming, fans were urged to lobby Netflix to renew the entire saga.
Using the hashtag #giveusthesaga, they filled the Twitter world with tweets about the series’ continuation. By the looks of it, the move was effective, and Netflix heard their clamor.
So, what will happen in the new season?
Dragon Prince Season 4 will feature the problems and issues between dragons and humans and the expansion of Xadia and its kingdom.
It is also likely that it will mostly focus on the connection between Sunfire elves and Aaravos.
However, the fourth season’s production has, reportedly, been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fortunately, the series’ animation is not a complicated thing to do that can be produced despite the ongoing health crisis.
Anyhow, with the lack of production updates, Netflix has yet to announce a specific release date for Dragon Prince Season 4.
There is a big possibility that a script may already be ready or even a general outline, Inverse noted. But, there are no words yet when its filming begins. It looks like even the cast has no idea about it.
Aside from Dragon Prince Season 4, the coming of a Dragon Prince table-top game and a new graphic novel is also announced. The latter will take place after the third season and the series creator, Aaron Ehasz, revealed it served as “canon.”
