Drew Barrymore has not gotten over her drunken interview with Andy Cohen two years ago, so she apologized to him in their recent interview.
Drew Barrymore and Andy Cohen reunited for her digital series Art of the Interview. During their conversation, the Charlie’s Angels star shared that she drunk too much during her interview with Cohen for Watch What Happens Live and she was sorry for her boozy appearance.
Drew Barrymore beat herself up for the drunken interview
Drew Barrymore, 45, faced Andy Cohen, 52, again for her digital series. The Santa Clarita Diet star took their virtual reunion as an opportunity to apologize to Cohen for how she behaved during their interview two years ago.
“It was on your show, and I drank too much and I have never forgiven myself, nor will I ever forgive myself,” Barrymore said as quoted by Page Six.
“I’m an imperfect person, and I tout that, and I’ve had that liberty since I was a kid because it was all out there,” she added.
Barrymore was referencing to her wild years as a teenager. She was put in rehab following a drug and alcohol abuse. She also attempted suicide, Page Six noted.
“And it was either boo hoo about it or say, ‘God, it’s sort of redeeming to not have to pretend to be perfect.’ But I really want to apologize to you because I really — I just, I will never let that happen again. I’m so sorry,” Barrymore added.
How Cohen responded to Barrymore’s apology
It looks like Drew Barrymore has to forgive herself because Andy Cohen had already moved on from it. He couldn’t remember what exactly happened. Also, he is used to people being over-served.
“I’m used to people being over-served on my show, and so I don’t even really have a totally clear memory of it, but you don’t need to apologize to me for being over-served on my show, that happens,” Cohen responded.
“You’re in a great club of people.”
Barrymore on taking care of herself
Drew Barrymore has lost 20 pounds and is now happy and confident with her body. However, she worked hard to achieve her current weight.
When asked how she takes care of herself after months of gruesome workout out to achieve her present size, she said she eats healthy and maintains her workout routine.
“I eat really clean and healthy, and I do an hour of Pilates at least four days a week,” Barrymore told InStyle.
“I have to work so hard at not being the size of a bus. And it’s OK. That is just my journey. That is my karma. I don’t know, maybe I was thin and mean in a past life.”
Barrymore’s hosting gig, The Drew Barrymore Show, premieres on Sept. 14.
