Drew Barrymore and Kelly Clarkson are being pitted against each other because of their talk shows.
According to Globe, the celebrity friends and fans of Drew Barrymore are rallying behind her to beat Clarkson when it comes to their show’s ratings.
Weeks ago, it was announced that Clarkson will be taking over Ellen DeGeneres’ timeslot next year after the Ellen Show wraps up.
A-listers wish Drew Barrymore would replace Ellen DeGeneres
Now, a source for the tabloid is saying that this is when things will become more competitive between Barrymore and Clarkson.
“Drew’s A-list friends are seriously old school about this stuff, and they’re going to band together and give her all the support she needs. Drew’s got a ton of loyalty in the movie industry her rival will never have,” the source said.
Since Barrymore has been industry for decades, the source claimed that she has a long list of celebrity contacts.
Clarkson, on the other hand, also has connections but she can never compete with the former child star.
“Everyone’s waiting for Ellen to leave, but people are placing their bets on Drew and think she’ll be the rating grabber,” the source said.
Drew Barrymore, Kelly Clarkson pitted against each other for months
This isn’t the first time that Barrymore and Clarkson were pitted against each other.
Last year, Us Weekly claimed that DeGeneres will be replaced by another host amid the allegations of bullying that plagued her and her show.
Back then, the comedian still hasn’t announced her decision to quit Ellen Show. But the tabloid was already convinced that DeGeneres won’t be hosting the program for very long.
A source then claimed that Barrymore and not Clarkson could replace the funny woman.
“Celebrities warm up to her because she’s one of them. She gets them to answer the tough questions because they’re so at ease in her company,” the source said.
Rumors debunked
However, the tabloid was incorrect when it came to their allegations because Clarkson was the one tapped to replace DeGeneres.
But it is important to note that the American Idol winner won’t serve as the new host of Ellen Show. Rather, she and Drew Barrymore will continue to host their own morning programs.
