Microsoft Store accidentally leaked the surprise arrival of “Dying Light: Platinum Edition” for Xbox.
The attention toward Dying Light: Platinum Edition continues to increase following what happened on Microsoft Store. It appears to be a supposed “surprise release” for Xbox users. But, after the accidental leak earlier this week, fans have now gotten a glimpse of what the new game will look like upon its arrival.
Comic Book reported that the premature posting comes amid the emergence of several teasers for Dying Light 2. Although the leak is not reportedly going to hurt gamers and players, the supposed surprise release will no longer work.
The accidental leak on Microsoft Store
On Monday, Microsoft Store released a new listing, detailing the launch of Dying Light: Platinum Edition. The page did not include information about its price tag but, it revealed the inclusions of the game.
The publication said that the store has since removed the page. Despite this, though, many have already obtained “receipts.”
As taken from the now-removed listing, the package includes the expansions Dying Light: The Following, Dying Light: Bozak Horde, Cuisine & Cargo, and Hellraid. It also comes with the Ultimate Survivor Bundle, Crash Test Skin Pack, as well as a huge collection of skins and weapons. Based on reports, there are a total of 15 bundles under this compilation.
About Dying Light: Platinum Edition
The publication believes that Dying Light: Platinum Edition is the “ultimate edition” of the original game, Dying Light. The first game that built the entire franchise debuted in January 2015 and became a massive success.
Upon its release, the title hit Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Linux. There were plans for a PS3 and Xbox 360 release but, the cancellation took place due to “hardware limitations.”
Screen Rant said that a bundle containing the franchise’s releases from 2015 seemingly makes sense because of the sequel’s arrival. As it happens, part 2 of the original game remains on track for a 2022 release.
The actual release for Xbox and other consoles
Following all the reports, publisher Techland has yet to release an official announcement about the incident. Even so, more information will soon emerge as the game will hit Microsoft Store this week.
As noted, Dying Light: Platinum Edition will supposedly arrive on May 27. Although the leak only concerns Xbox users, it is reportedly safe to assume that the title will also launch on other platforms, like PlayStation.
