Since being revealed way back in 2018, Bethesda is yet to reveal any new details about The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield. As of yesterday, however, we just got a few more news about the game.
Both The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield are the two most anticipated titles of Bethesda. Even if Microsoft has just bought them, fans are sure that there will be even more support for the two titles. Just recently, Pete Hines gave us a few details about the upcoming titles.
Todd Howard speaks out
In a blog post, Bethesda Softwork’s Todd Howard talks about the Microsoft-Zenimax deal, which costs $7.5 billion. In the post, Howard also talks about work on the two upcoming titles from the developers.
He didn’t say much about the upcoming titles. However, Howard did note that the power of the Xbox Series X and S allowed the developers to create a vast world. It’s not just about the graphical updates, as the CPU and data streaming upgrades can make the game run smoother.
Howard also says that the games have forced them to overhaul on their game engine, which has been around since The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. All new technologies are powering Bethesda’s two upcoming titles.
Next projects
Both projects were unveiled during E3 2018. The Elder Scrolls 6 is the next entry in Bethesda’s popular RPG series. After the successful Skyrim, fans are expecting a lot from the next game. Not much is known about it yet. Even the games’ setting remains unknown, as all Bethesda ever showed was a teaser for where the game will be held.
On the other hand, Starfield is a new IP for Bethesda. It’s a new IP for Bethesda in decades. There are even fewer things we know about the Starfield. What we do know is that it will be a sci-fi epic set in space. Many fans have commented that it will be like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls but in a space setting.
Work on The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield is still on the way. Fans are very excited to see even just gameplay snippets of these two titles, but it seems like we have to wait for a while longer. Hopefully, Howard and his team deliver as their recent entries like Fallout 76 have gravely disappointed their biggest fans. It’s time for Bethesda to step up their game.
